Self-hosted game library and emulation management service like Steam for your own DRM-free game collection. Host once, play from any client.
Retrom is a centralized game library management service that lets you host your games on a single device and connect clients on any number of other devices to install, download, and play them wherever you want a self-hosted Steam for a DRM-free game library. It scans your filesystem for games and platforms, automatically adding them to your library, and supports desktop clients on Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus a web client you can access from anywhere, including in-browser emulation via EmulatorJS. Retrom can unify your emulation library with third-party libraries like Steam and (soon) GOG, and has experimental support for native PC/Linux/macOS games. Emulator profiles are managed per client but stored on the server, making it easy to share configurations between devices or restore them after a reinstall, and games can be launched across any number of emulators or platforms from a single library interface. Game metadata and artwork are downloaded automatically from supported providers like IGDB. The project is under active development — multi-user authentication and some provider integrations are still on the roadmap — and is free and open source under the GNU GPL v3.0 License.
