Open-source, self-hostable social media suite combining post scheduling, an image/carousel editor, and a video editor in one app.
OpenPost is an all-in-one social media management tool positioned as an open-source alternative to Buffer, Canva, and CapCut combined: composing and scheduling posts, designing images and carousels, and editing video all live in one app. Posts can be written once and adjusted per platform with live previews before publishing, with reusable account groups saved as Social Sets. The built-in image editor supports layered design, templates, custom fonts, and in-browser background removal for multi-page carousels; the video editor offers a multitrack timeline, captions, transitions, effects, audio, and transcript-based cutting (selecting words in a transcript to cut footage), plus a screen/camera/microphone recorder that feeds directly into edits. Scheduling supports fixed times or queue-based next-available-slot publishing, calendar planning, staggered publishing across accounts, and low-queue reminders, alongside auto-repost rules with configurable delays and engagement thresholds. A shared media library organizes reusable assets with tags, collections, and favorites, and includes a meme-maker built on templates. Additional features include a unified inbox for comments and DMs, analytics with post comparison and repurposing of past posts, an account-discovery tool for Bluesky and Mastodon, optional AI writing/idea generation (self-hostable), and automation via API, CLI, MCP, and n8n integration. Teams can separate brands into workspaces with passkey and two-factor authentication support. It integrates with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Pixelfed, PeerTube, Lemmy, PieFed, Discord, Pinterest, and Telegram, with per-platform posting, inbox, and analytics capabilities varying by provider. It's self-hostable via Docker Compose (SQLite + local storage by default) or available as OpenPost Hosted, and is built with Go, SvelteKit, and Expo.
