About MentraOS

MentraOS is an open-source smart glasses platform that provides a unified runtime, developer tools, and application ecosystem for smart glasses. It handles device pairing, connectivity, hardware access, data streaming, and cross-device compatibility, allowing developers to create applications that run across supported smart-glasses hardware from multiple manufacturers. Apps run on a connected smartphone inside the Mentra Runtime while communicating with smart glasses through a shared connection. The platform provides access to displays, microphones, cameras, speakers, notifications, translation services, AI features, and other smart-glasses capabilities through a common API. MentraOS includes a MiniApp Store for app distribution, supports enterprise deployments, offers iOS and Android applications, and is fully open source under the MIT License. Developers can self-host, modify, extend, and integrate the platform without vendor lock-in.
