Open-source, self-hostable project management system built for non-project managers, combining strategy, planning, and execution — designed with ADHD, dyslexia, and autism in mind.
Leantime is a goal-focused, open-source project management system designed for people who aren't professional project managers, combining strategy, planning, and execution into a single tool. It was built with neurodivergent users in mind — ADHD, dyslexia, and autism — aiming to be as simple as Trello but as feature-rich as Jira, positioning itself as an alternative to ClickUp, Monday, or Asana. Task management covers kanban boards, Gantt charts, tables, lists, and calendar views, with unlimited subtasks, dependencies, milestone management, sprint management, and time tracking. Project planning tools include dashboards, reports, goal and metrics tracking, Lean and Business Model Canvases, SWOT analysis, and risk analysis. Information management features wikis/docs, idea boards, retrospectives, file storage via S3 or local filesystem, and screen/webcam recording. On the administration side, Leantime supports multiple user roles with per-project permissions, two-factor authentication, LDAP and OIDC integration, plugin and API extensibility, Slack/Mattermost/Discord integration, and availability in over 20 languages — all included in the open-source version with no feature gating. It's self-hosted via a standard PHP/MySQL installation or an official Docker image, with managed hosting and SaaS options also available for those who don't want to self-host. Leantime is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, with an exception allowing plugins in the /app/Plugins directory to carry other licenses, including a separate enterprise license.
