Modern, lightweight open-source music player built with Rust and Dioxus, supporting local libraries, Jellyfin/Subsonic streaming, YouTube Music, and SoundCloud.
Kopuz is a modern, lightweight, open-source music player built with Rust and the Dioxus framework, offering a clean and responsive interface for managing local music collections. It can scan local directories for audio files, stream from a Jellyfin or Subsonic-compatible server (such as Navidrome), or connect YouTube Music and SoundCloud as streaming backends — all unified under a single MediaSource layer. Features include dynamic theming, native media control integration (MPRIS, Now Playing, SMTC), a mini-player, system tray support, Discord Rich Presence, synced and plain lyrics, local and server-synced favorites, custom playlists, genre browsing, a 5-band equalizer, crossfade, channel mode controls, and yt-dlp integration for downloading audio. YouTube Music support includes a Discover page, rich artist profiles, and mix radio, with both signed-in and anonymous browsing modes. Kopuz stores all data locally in a SQLite database and supports 18+ languages. It's available via Nix, AUR, Flatpak, AppImage, or building from source, and is built for performance with parallel loading, caching, and non-blocking I/O.
