IINA is a free, open-source media player designed specifically for modern macOS, using mpv as its playback engine for high-quality decoding. It offers a fully native macOS experience with support for Force Touch, picture-in-picture, and advanced Touch Bar controls, alongside a customizable interface with multiple color schemes and on-screen controller layouts. Beyond basic playback, IINA includes a standalone Music Mode for audio files, video thumbnails, online subtitle searching with intelligent local matching, unlimited playback history, and interactive video/audio filter controls. Advanced users can fully customize keyboard, mouse, trackpad, and gesture controls, and extend the player through mpv configuration scripts or IINA's own JavaScript-based plugin system, which powers a growing ecosystem of official and community plugins for subtitles, streaming sources, media servers like Jellyfin, and more. Command-line tools and browser extensions are also provided, and IINA is localized into more than 20 languages via Crowdin.
