Open-source, standalone firewall for Windows 7 and later with its own kernel driver, offering flexible per-application network rules and traffic statistics.
Fort Firewall is a free Windows firewall built on its own kernel driver based on the Windows Filtering Platform (WFP), giving it efficient, reliable control over network traffic independent of the built-in Windows Firewall. It supports flexible rules per application or globally by address, port, and protocol, wildcard matching in application paths, parent-process-based rules, and filtering by individual SvcHost.exe service names for granular control over Windows services. Additional features include per-application-group speed limiting, blocklists via a "Zones" system, detailed traffic statistics with graphical bandwidth display, and a portable installation mode that keeps all settings self-contained for use on removable media. Fort ships with an Auto-Learn mode for easier initial setup and a stricter Block-if-not-allowed mode for tighter security. The project is actively maintained by a single developer, supported through GitHub Sponsors, Patreon, and Buy Me a Coffee, and is localized through Crowdin community translation.
