About Eonvelope

Eonvelope is a self-hosted email archiving system built to preserve emails for an indefinitely long period, with automatic and continuous fetching across all major mail access protocols: IMAP, POP, Exchange, and JMAP. Archived emails can be imported and exported in various formats, and the system identifies related emails and can restore archived messages back to a live mail account. It integrates with other self-hosted projects such as Paperless-ngx, SearXNG, and Grafana, and offers a mobile-friendly Bootstrap5 web app with PWA support, along with filtering and search across archived emails, attachments, and correspondents. For administrators, setup is container-based (Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes) with an out-of-the-box SSL certificate, a full API, and a slim mode for low-spec systems. The project maintains over 95% test coverage on its codebase, given the sensitivity of email data, and is built on Django. Documentation is hosted on ReadTheDocs, and translations are community-driven via Weblate.
