End-to-end encrypted alternative to Google Docs with real-time collaboration, commenting, suggestion mode, Markdown, LaTeX, MermaidJS, and offline editing.
dDocs Editor is a free, open-source, end-to-end encrypted document editor and collaboration platform, designed as a privacy-first alternative to Google Docs. It gives users complete sovereignty over their data while enabling secure real-time collaboration, inline commenting, suggestion mode, and granular access permissions. dDocs supports rich text editing with Markdown, LaTeX, and MermaidJS, dark mode and color themes, offline editing, cross-device syncing, and social recovery of data. It also offers CLI access and presentation mode for slides. The editor is distributed as a React component package via npm under the name @fileverse-dev/ddoc, and supports wallet-based and username-based authentication, IPFS image uploads, AI writing assistance, and custom self-hosted fonts loaded on demand. Available at ddocs.new, the platform is built by Fileverse and is under active development.
