Free, open-source YouTube and 2000+ site downloader for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Up to 4K HDR video, MP3/AAC/Opus audio, playlists, subtitles, no ads, no account.
Arroxy is a free, open-source desktop GUI built on yt-dlp that downloads videos, audio, playlists, channels, podcasts, and subtitles from YouTube and over 2000 other supported sites, including Vimeo, Twitch, Twitter/X, TikTok, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp. It supports resolutions up to 4K UHD with HDR and high frame rates, audio export as MP3, M4A/AAC, Opus, or WAV, surround/Dolby audio track selection, and subtitle export in SRT, VTT, or ASS with optional embedding and SponsorBlock integration to skip sponsors and intros. Downloads run entirely locally, going straight from the source to a folder you choose, with no account or cookie export required by default; optional cookie support exists for age-restricted or members-only content. Workflow features include a global download hotkey, a central download queue with pause/resume/retry, bulk URL paste, per-item playlist profiles, filename templates, and automatic tracking-parameter stripping from pasted links. The app ships in 30 languages and is distributed via Winget, Homebrew Cask, Scoop, Flatpak, AppImage, and direct download. Arroxy sends anonymous, aggregate telemetry (crash/failure data, OS and app version, no URLs, titles, file paths, or personal data) via OpenPanel by default, which can be disabled in Settings. It's free and open source under the MIT License, intended for personal, private use; users are responsible for complying with YouTube's Terms of Service and local copyright law.
